Sometimes I like playing with complimentary colors in illustrations and designs, especially when it makes sense. However, the drawback to this is predictability. I actually prefer to go out on the edge but sometimes I just go with the flow because it just looks beautiful! As a designer, though it does help to stand out and develop a personal style and whatever that may be it should be original.
